Our infectious diseases experts offer patient-centered, innovative and comprehensive care for patients with bacterial, viral, fungal, or parasitic diseases. Treatment takes place in several specialized outpatient clinics and on three wards, including an intensive care unit (ICU). As a certified "Center for Infectiology" by the German Society for Infectious diseases, our department is internationally acknowledged and renowned for delivering highest quality of care and excellent research performance. Our specialists provide comprehensive infectious disease consultations for both internal and external cases at Charité. In addition, our department maintains and oversees Germany's largest special isolation ward for the states of Berlin and of Brandenburg, with a strong emphasis on scientific research.
